Short-Medium-Long

The magician shows three ropes of different lengths. He gathers the six ends together and slowly pulls the ropes apart again. The ropes that were just unequal in length are now all the same length.

The magician counts the three ropes one at a time, rejoins the six ends, and pulls on one end. It's one end of the short rope. Next comes the medium and then the long.

Was it all just an illusion? You can perform SHORT MEDIUM LONG with unprepared ropes.
