My Best by JGThompson Jr.
MY BEST by JG THOMPSON JR The pages of this book contain the best tricks from the best minds in magic. It does not contain any effects, but the best and most jealously guarded originals from over a hundred magicians whose names represent a "Who's Who" among the "Inventors of Magic".
A compilation of 193 tricks from all branches of magic. 115 well-known artists, professionals, but also many clever amateurs have contributed to this book. The book is 380 pages well illustrated. I am absolutely in love with this book!!! In all the years since I first bought it, I'm so surprised it hasn't received more acclaim or more attention.
There are so many great effects in this book, but the one I love the most is the very first effect in the book, The Card Between. I think the strength of his connection with me stems from the fact that it's (obviously) the first effect I learned from the book, which quickly convinced me I had acquired something special.
Also, in my early teens, I had the opportunity to demonstrate this effect for Harry Lorayne, David Roth, Looy Simonoff, and Sam Schwarz in a New York coffee shop session, and then for Dai Vernon after lunch one day at the Magic Castle.
Contains such great effects as:
1) Improved "Zen's" Cards & Envelopes (p. 55)
2) Coincidence? no providence? Yes (p. 94) Don't overlook this! POWERFUL!
3) The Future Deck (p. 117) Use the Mexican Turnover as suggested in the editor's note
4) The greatest trick with four aces (p. 117)
5) Sefalalia III (p. 183)
6) Assisted By The Dead (p. 213)
